M&S Table Top Sale Raises £208 Towards The Camera.

In only 5 hours, we managed to raise £208 yesterday outside M&S in Anlaby, all with donated goods, so 100% profit. Result!!

Many thanks to Jane from M&S for allowing us to do this and to Irene for donating the fantastic jigsaws that sold really well and thanks to Kym who is proving to be an invaluable team member.

Met some really nice people on the day and had some interesting conversations.

We also got a donation yesterday from the kind ladies at the Anlaby and Willerby Slimming World. Thank you ladies……….

Yorkshire 3 Peaks Walk – Hits the £11k Mark!

Yorkshire 3 Peaks Walk – Hits the £11k Mark!

Our Y3P walk was a great success on Saturday May 12th 2018.

In glorious, perfect walking conditions, 40 walkers started out, but, despite giving it their very best shot, a few had to withdraw.

Minor injuries apart, we are sure they and everyone else felt an immense sense pride in being part of something special and for that day, doing something way out of their comfort zone.

We hope that we have left you all with lasting memories.

From a campaign point of view, we have raised £11k, which for a single event, is fantastic.

Great effort from everyone concerned, thank you for your support, time and effort in helping to make it a great success.

Thanks also to everyone of our support team, (Mark, Stuart, Mike, Sarah and Julie) without which, the event would not have happened and a special thanks to Henry from Monkey Mountains for keeping us all safe!

We are officially Lazaats chosen local charity for 2019

We are officially Lazaats chosen local charity for 2019

We had a great meeting with the good people from Lazaats early last week.
After hearing about the campaign they contacted us and asked if we would like to be their single local charity for 2019.
They have offered us their prestigous pavilion suite with 3 course meal seating up to 330 people for a Saturday night in March 2019.
Still a long way off but gives us plenty of time to plan something really special.
Thank you Lazaats for this most generous offer from all of the Retcam team.

Roar 4 the Retcam

What a fantastic night we all had at The Kardomah94 last Thursday night!

Side splittingly funny, our hosts at Kardomah94 and The Hull Comedy Festival guys gave us a fantastic night.

Ticket sales on the lead up to the night were slow to be fair , but it ended up being a sell out with standing room only. Profit after costs was £369, all going to the Retcam.

Thanks to all the comedians for donating their time to us, thus ensuring returns to the appeal were maximised. A special thanks to Gary Jennison and Jed Salisbury for organising this and thanks to Dave Smith, Peter Phillipson, Thomas Green and last but not least, Discount Comedy Checkout for their fantastic impromptu performances!. All were brilliant with their own quirky, individual brand of comedy. As good as you would see on ‘Live at the Apollo’ any night!

Further collaboration with these guys guaranteed, checkout our events page for ‘Jeddy Bears Picnic’ for more details!

Our Kingston Joinery team had an epic trip to The Lakes taking in Scafell Pike and Langdale Pikes in one day. 13 miles in one day on ‘proper mountains’. Well done boys!

Walton Street Car Boot Sale.

One of our intrepid volunteers had an early start to-day at Walton street car boot sale.

First of all, a big thanks to Town & Country Markets for letting us set up at no cost and at last minute (we were on our way to Withernsea).

Secondly, a massive thanks to Steve Robins who heard us on the Burnsy show this week. After seeing our posters, he went off to the Speedbank and came back and gave us a £200 donation because he thought it was such a worthy cause and ‘thinks the gift of sight is so precious and infants deserve the best chance of having that gift’.

Our sentiments exactly Steve and thank you so much. It’s donations like these that are getting us ever closer to our target.

We were selling our donated cartoon characters to-day donated by Wendy, after she too heard us on radio and donated them to the campaign. We raised £125 to-day with these, so that’s £325 in a day towards the Retcam3.

Once again Burnsy has been the catalyst for this.

Thanks all.
